BEYOND THE VALLEY

POKHARA (2 days including one night lodging)

Pokhara is one of the most picturesque towns on earth. The icy peaks of the Annapurna range and Mt. Machapuchere or Fish Tail mountain just 28 kilometers from the comfortable standard and luxury hotels near Phewa lake dominate the northern horizon. The lake Phewa provides splendid views and the mule trains passing through the market place on the way to far away Himalayan border areas like Mustang lending an atmosphere of agelessness to the surroundings. Phewa, Begnas and Rupa lakes offer boating, fishing and swimming. Early morning excursion to Sarangkot hill offers a panoramic view of the Annapurna Himalayan range, Sunrise and Pokhara valley. Pokhara is situated 200 kilometers west of Kathmandu at 827 meters above sea level. It is connected by air as well as a 6-hour scenic drive along the midland valley region of the country.
 

EXCURSION TO GORKHA (Full day trip township of Gorkha)

Gorkha is the birthplace of King Prithivi Narayan Shah the Great, founder of modern Nepal and ancestral home of the ruling Shah dynasty of Nepal. Situated on a hilltop with a clear view of the Himalayas, lies the beautiful old Gorkha palace known as Gorkha Durbar - outstanding for its Nepalese architecture from where King Prithivi Narayan Shah began his campaign to unify the kingdom.

There are two attractive temples of Gorakhanath and Gorakh Kali inside the palace premises. The world famous Gorkha soldiers hail from this place. Gorkha is reached in about 4 hours drive from Kathmandu and 2 hours from Pokhara.


CABLE CAR DRIVE TO MANAKAMANA

Manakamana, meaning the Goddess Kali fulfilling one's wishes, is reached by a fascinating 12-minute cable car drive from Kurintar, which is 96 km far from Kathmandu on way to Pokhara. A Spectacular view of the Himalayas in the north and river Trisuli down in the south offers an unforgettable feeling.


EXCURSION TO DAMAN HILL (Full day trip to Daman)

Situated at 2400m. height is 80 km far Kathmandu. This hill station is famous for having a view of long Himalayan ranges, starting from Dhaulagiri to Kanchanjunga. You will have a spectacular view of Palung valley while driving along the Daman road, which will take 4 hrs.


MOUNTAIN FLIGHT (1 hour, mornings)

One of the many highlights of a visit to Nepal is the spectacular mountain flights organized by the national carrier Royal Nepal Airlines, as well as other private carriers. The one-hour flight from Kathmandu airport passes by mountains Sagarmatha (Mt. Everest) Mt. Kanchanjunga, third highest in the world and many other peaks. Other Himalayan panorama flights can also be arranged to have closer view of Annapurna, Langtang and Kanchanjunga etc.
